A lot of people have asked why I started Second Look Auto Inspections, so I wanted to share a little background.
I’ve been an automotive technician for over 10 years, working in dealership environments where I performed used car inspections, evaluated trade-ins, inspected auction vehicles, and helped decide whether cars were safe, roadworthy, or even worth selling. I’m also an ASE Certified Master Technician.
The turning point for me came when a customer brought in a new to them Cadillac they had just purchased — complete with the dealer’s aftermarket “warranty.” You know, the ones you see commercials for. After inspecting it, I found over $12,000 in needed repairs that the warranty covered none of. That situation could have been avoided with a simple pre-purchase inspection.
That’s why I do what I do now.
My inspections aren’t about pointing out every minor flaw — they’re about helping buyers understand what matters most. I focus on prioritizing issues that affect safety, reliability, and ownership costs, so you can make an informed decision without pressure.
I don’t sell cars. I don’t sell repairs. I work only for the buyer, with no incentive other than looking out for your best interest.
At the end of an inspection, my goal is for you to feel:
Informed
Confident
Empowered to walk away if needed
Because spending a small amount on an inspection can save you thousands of dollars and a lot of stress down the road.
